Dave Hooker
Executive Director NZACS / MC
Dave is a respected leader in the New Zealand Petroleum and Convenience retail sectors. His track record in performance and leadership at a national and International level dealing with many major FMCG companies is recognised throughout the industry. Before starting Retailworx, Dave worked in Convenience retail management for Mobil Oil NZ Ltd, ExxonMobil Asia Pacific and BP New Zealand. In these positions Dave spent a number of years on the NZACS management committee. Dave was appointed Executive Director of NZACS three years ago in a part time capacity where he oversees all aspects of the Association.

On the Spot Group Manager, Foodstuffs
Mike is the Group Manager for On The Spot Group, a banner group of Foodstuffs South Island, and is responsible for 108 stores across the South Island. Mike has worked in the FMCG industry for 25 years, been employed at Foodstuffs SI for 12 years and has been the On the Spot Group Manager for 2½ years.
Ruth Riviere
Country Manager, Mastercard
Ruth joined Mastercard UK in 2012 and has held various roles across the organisation. Ruth’s most recent role at Mastercard was as Director of Social Impact at the Mastercard Centre for Inclusive Growth, where she designed and directed the Centre’s global philanthropic programme work to support sustainable economic growth and financial inclusion. This included programmes in Indonesia, Romania, Mexico, Egypt, Rwanda, Nigeria and the US. Prior to Mastercard, Ruth worked in financial services consulting at Oliver Wyman, and helped to build an innovation and growth consultancy, recently acquired by Deloitte.
Peter Morton
Director, Herbert Morton Chartered Accountants
Prior to his career as an Accountant, Peter was a Director and responsible for the management of three service stations and workshop repair businesses. Peter founded Herbert Morton in October 1985 with his partner Keith Herbert and the firm now has 21 team members in three different areas in the North Island. Peter is highly regarded in the service station industry and has contributed heavily to the success of the Motor Trade Association (MTA), serving as a Director for several years. Peter was one of the driving forces behind Automotive Solutions, a group of professional Automotive Repairers throughout New Zealand. Peter works tirelessly for his clients, is a well-known speaker and industry advocate, and fully deserves the recognition of MTA Life Membership

Skye Jackson
Head of Merchandise Planning, Caltex
Skye Jackson is an experienced convenience and retail expert, having worked at Caltex Australia for over 10 years. With extensive experience in retail transformation, Skye has a passion for all things customer and delivering new formats that meet the changing needs of every day Australians. Skye played a pivotal role in the roll out of over 60 Caltex The Foodary stores. Skye is now the Head of Merchandise Planning, where she leads the implementation of Caltex’s newest store format a partnership with Woolworths for Metro at Caltex.
Karina Hellyer
National Operations Manager, Night ‘n’ Day Foodstores
In her role as National Operations Manager at Night ‘n’ Day Foodstores, Karina says she never has a dull moment. Karina worked part-time with Night ‘n’ Day while at high school, and after graduating Otago University moved into a management role within the company’s Dunedin-based head office. Karina’s responsibilities are many and varied, including new store setups, employment and training, security, process and systems, compliance, store layouts and new product roll-outs, franchisee support and inventory management. In 2012, 2013 and 2018, Night ‘n Day featured in New Zealand’s Deloitte Fast 50 companies and a Franchise Association NZ finalist in the 2018 Franchise System of the Year.
Ali Hamza
General Manager, Bluebird Foods
Ali has responsibility for the snacks business and its portfolio of successful brands including Bluebird, Delisio, Copper Kettle, Le Snak and Doritos. Ali has been leading Bluebird Foods since January 2017 and has vast experience in fast moving consumer goods across multiple markets. Ali was previously Chief Financial Officer for Bluebird Foods and has 16 years’ experience in business consulting, transformation and strategy. Ali is part of the executive committee for PepsiCo Australia and New Zealand and has worked and lived in New Zealand and Pakistan. Ali is passionate about people and culture, driving category expansion through product innovation and delivering long-term sustainable business growth.
